Kindergarten to Grade 6

CLIS uses the Christian Light Education curriculum from K-6. This is used as a core curriculum blended with History and Geography studies from Uganda, Africa and around the world. We believe that this curriculum is academically sound and gives students that needed spiritual foundation and academic rigor that is needed for their next step.

Grades 7-12

In Grade 7 to 10 our students are following the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum in many subjects. At IGCSE results are shown by one of the grades A*, A , B, C , D, E, F or G indicating the standard achieved, A* being the highest and G the lowest. Ungraded indicates that the student’s performance fell short of the standard required for grade G.

In Grade 11 and 12 our students follow the Cambridge Exam Board AS and A2 Level Courses in their chosen subject areas. At A-level, results are shown by one of the grades A, B, C, D, E, F or G. An A* grade can only be achieved at A-level (Grade 12). An E is the lowest pass mark at AS and A-level.

Similar to IGCSE, students taking A-levels will sit their final exams in October- November of their Grade 11 and Grade 12 year. Grade 11 marks contribute half of the grade of their final A level, but the exams are done in two sessions, over two years.

At IGCSE grade C or above is worthy of merit and is considered a pass. Students who attain a grade C at IGCSE or above should be commended.
